IPODLESS
This was the day when I saw my iPod for the last time, and now.. it has gone without even saying a goodbye! In other words, the previous sentence also means i LOST my iPod! GG.. stupid me. careless me. Darnnnn!! I was really really careless to leave my paper bag with my iPod inside at the busstop. And by the time i realized it.. no more paper bag around, no more Ipod for me.
sighhh...
I still cant believe it. I lost my freakin' iPod! huhu

COMMENCEMENT
8 July 2009 is one important day in my life. I officially graduated from NUS with a Bachelor of Applied Science!! *yayy..i made it* Despite the fact that i just lost my iPod less than 12 hours before the big day, smiles were still all around my face. :) The proud feeling of being an alumni of NUS occupied all my brain compartments which left no space to think about the lost iPod. The glorious smile for succesfully bringing home the graduation certificate with an award on hand is second to none. The countless camera-clicks, the flowers and gifts, the congratulations and best wishes, they were all awesome!
Thank you ALL for the supports!!
Thanks to my family without whom i would be no one. Their endless supports are the most precious gift in my life.
Thank you dad.

LANGKAWI
The commencement was followed by a short vacation with my family. We went to Langkawi island for 3 days. Well.. it's really a short one. In fact, we only had one full day over there, which was filled mostly with snorkeling. We enjoyed our time there.. An escapade with no rushing whatsoever. Relax. ;D
We rent a car throughout our stay in the island. It's highly recommended so you can go anywhere you want to explore the island. Dont worry about not having a Malaysian license, as long as you have a driving license, issued by any countries, you are eligible to drive there. :)
As mentioned before, it was a short vacation. Our first half day there spent with a drive around the island, including a visit to Eagle Square and some local stores. The day ended with a sumptuous seafood dinner. =D

The next day spent mostly with snorkeling at Pulau Payar, which is located about 50 mins from the main Langkawi island. We took a local tour package which brought us to a snorkeling experience from a platform located 5 mins away from the seashore. The water is crystal clear and the underwater view there is beautiful, filled with colorful coral and fishes. Some small sharks were also seen. And of course, the day was not complete without a seafood dinner. nyum nyumm.. and fyi, we had our dinner at the same restaurant for two consecutive nights there. It was not because we were lazy to go find other place. We did drive around looking for other restaurant, but our last decision eventually landed on the same restaurant. Orchid Ria Seafood Restaurant at Pantai Cenang, highly recommended! haha.. ;)

One interesting story i encountered while having dinner there was about crab and a Caucasian couple. They were sitting at the table next to my table. We had already finished our dinner when their dishes were served. They ordered some seafood, including crab. A minute later, the guy called a waiter and with a surprised, i overheard him asking about how to eat crab. lol
He told the waiter that they have never eaten crab before and didn't know which part to eat and how to eat it. The waiter then showed them how to use the crab 'pliers' and told them which part to be broken to get the meat. I could indeed hear 'oh.. wow' response coming from the guy. haha.
This really made me feel so grateful for living in archipelago areas where seafood is not so expensive and so difficult to find. :) :)
The next day was a real short one, breakfast and off to the airport.
Bye Langkawi!

A happy ending for the stories??
Unfortunately not. As mentioned to my previous post, welcome back yuven!!
..Alone again without my family. BB-less and iPod-less. and to make it even worse, China now bans facebook.

The Road Not Taken.
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

NDP rehearsal.
After a short shopping time, I brought my mom and bro to the Esplanade area where we could get a view of the Singapore National Day Parade (NDP) 2009 rehearsal. Considering the actual day which is still more one month ahead, i could see the magnificent efforts from the organizers to make the event a real success on the D-day.

Something unique about this year NDP is the attractions from the army, including the parachute performances, water attractions using speed boats and the military boats, cannon gun shots as well as the F-16 and helicopter shows.
Although some parts were cut short during the rehearsals, such as the F16 attraction and the fireworks, it's still worth watching i think. Considering the crowd that is way waaay waaaaay more on the actual day, i'd prefer going to the rehearsal instead. ;)
Below are some shots taken.

he is the one who calls me shortie!
I went to watch Ice Age 3 with my bro today. Hilarious! better than the second one, but i give it a draw with the first one.
I love Peaches!!! she's soooo cute! ;)

Anw, i watched the movie in a late afternoon session and there were a lot of secondary school students watching at the same cinema as me. There were a group of 3 or 4 sitting right beside me. While watching the pre-show trailers/commercials, there were another bigger group of secondary school students coming in, wearing the same uniform as the group next to me. Then the girl sitting right beside me suddenly shouted,
"Ehhhh.... he is the one who calls me shortie!!" while pointing to one of the guy in the bigger group. I was stunt. GG. That was one spontaneous and LOUD salutation. Then another one,
"Ehh.. that girl is the one who always overtakes me!" (me: HUH?)
The people they were indicated had no other choice other than ignored them I guess. Or else, they would have started inter-gank fight. haha.. Anw, then i heard the girl beside me talking to his friend next to her (still with full emotion and loud enough so that i still could hear her),
"... i cant remember his name. But i recognize him! That guy always calls me shortie one!"(me: hahahaha.. -in silent of course)

Well well well.. I hate being called shortie too! But you dont need to be that spontaneous and that loud in a public place i assume. haha.. Anyway, I wonder if i did the same thing, I would need to point my finger to my own dad! :S

mom and bro are here.
My mom and bro came yesterday and they'll be spending sometime here first before my commencement (read: 8 July). My dad hasnt come yet and will only be joining us next week just before the commencement.
Anyway guess what.. the first agenda here set by my mom was room cleaning!! ok, maybe it's a natural mom's routine. I have my room much cleaner now with a price of
grusak grusuk here and there early this morning. hehe..
Well, despite the nagging that sometimes tags along, having a mom staying with you has the meaning of the cares that you always long for. :) A cup of hot tea that was just put beside me explains it all.
Thanks mom! :) xoxo~

women vs men.
Who is happier? Man or Woman?
Check this out! (my responses are in blue)
Men Are Just Happier People-- WHY?
Your last name stays put. (Ok.. fine)
The garage is all yours. (but women dominate the rest of the house)
Wedding plans take care of themselves. (coz u have women to plan it!)
Chocolate is just another snack. (really? men dont have problems with fat huh?)
You can be President. (hello..... it's 2009)
You can never be pregnant (although you might look like it). (lovin' the last sentence)
You can wear a white T-shirt to a water park. (why woman cant? :P)
You can wear NO shirt to a water park. (does this really make men happier?)
Car mechanics tell you the truth. (that your sound system sounds sucky and your velg need to be changed to a new one)
You never have to drive to another gas station restroom because this one is just too icky. (ok, if that means happiness)
You don't have to stop and think of which way to turn a nut on a bolt. (another happiness?)
Same work, more pay. (or more work less pay)
Wrinkles add character. (old character)
Wedding dress $5000. Tux rental-$100. (and all compliments land to the person standing next to u)
People never stare at your chest when you're talking to them. (hummm... )
New shoes don't cut, blister, or mangle your feet. (ok.. i agree with this!)
One mood all the time. (fine.)
Phone conversations are over in 30 seconds flat. (ngirit pulsa..)
You know stuff about tanks. (tanks?)
A five-day vacation requires only one suitcase. (yet you still got other suitcases to carry)
You can open all your own jars. (and open some others too)
You get extra credit for the slightest act of thoughtfulness. (okayy..)
If someone forgets to invite you, he or she can still be your friend. (yup2, who cares about being a forgotten friend? hahaha. :P)
Your underwear is $8.95 for a three-pack. (ooohh is it?)
Three pairs of shoes are more than enough. (yeah.. i envy men for this)
You never have strap problems in public. (ok yeahh..)
You are unable to see wrinkles in your clothes. (but others can. duh)
Everything on your face stays its original color. (boringg.. :P)
The same hairstyle lasts for years, maybe decades. (decades? gee.. u are oldfashioned)
You only have to shave your face and neck. (hmmm..)
You can play with toys all your life. (really? i thot it's the opposite?)
One wallet and one pair of shoes -- one color for all seasons. (excuse me, u said three pairs before?)
You can wear shorts no matter how your legs look. (but u cant wear skirts, no matter how your legs look)
You can "do" your nails with a pocket knife. (ok.. men pro with this)
You have freedom of choice concerning growing a mustache. (as if women cared about this freedom)
You can do Christmas shopping for 25 relatives on December 24 in 25 minutes. (proud?)
hahaha.. iseng.
I guess the whole differences depend on how happiness is defined. If less stuffs mean happiness for men, please be so. On the other hand, when women buys more things, those can make them happy as well. Well, varieties can be heaven for some and hell for the others.
So, are men happier than women? or vice versa?
Who knows. :)

new room
Today i moved in to my new room. Wew.. at least my second round of packing-unpacking is done. Not looking forward for the third one, as by that time.. i must somehow makes lots of my stuffs disappear. Now i wish i had the magic spell.
Bibbidi, bobbidi boo and all disappear! -temporarily of course. ;)
Anw.. mom and bro are coming in three days time. ^^
the lasts.
We all know, light exists because the present of the dark. One feels sick because one has tasted the worthless health. We call the time when the sun shines day(time) because we know there's night when moon takes turn to reveal her beauty. We don't need to be a philosopher, we all know that.
We also cant pretend we've never heard the proverb, '
there's always the first time for everything.' Because we have. Not only we have heard of it, but we also do believe in it. And as up always has down on the other extreme, a first also has a last waiting at the end of the road.
Day-by-day, and my associations with NUS one-by-one reaches its last. First come my last lecture, my last lib-aholic time, my last exam, and now.. it's my last night staying at the campus hostel. It has been three years since the day I came with my dad checking in and be amazed of my first room here. It has been three years since my first night, and tonight is my last.
wew..why so emo yuven?
Geee... i think i got the karma for making fun of the emo-ish last night commemoration asked by a friend. ;) *although i still think it's not necessary lor* hahaha
Well.. what makes me actually writing this is because I cant fall asleep. And with this sleepless condition, i couldn't help my mind to stop wondering about many things. I've been trying to fall asleep for hours, but i stil can't. Another episode of tv series was done, another playlist was already over and i am still awake. I walked out to the toilet and caught a glimpse of the night view of the hostel i've been staying for the past 3 years. Well guess what! It's normal, as per usual. haha... Yup! precisely... what so special? hmmmm.... and another hmmm for the answer. But i do admit.. i'll miss this place. :)
There it goes my last night in PGP. haha... Hopefully i can fall asleep after writing this (after FOUR freaking hours of struggle. GG)
*yawn....

pack pack packing.
packing..... I hate it! seriously. Yet unfortunately, i have to endure not only one but at least 3 or even 4 annoying pack-unpack times within these 3 months.
And this is only the second one.. -.-'
ohh and btw, it is less than 24 hours before i leave my room in PGP for good. It has been 3 years of memories here. I'm gonna miss this place. I will.

yes, i confirm that's me.
After adding a few albums to my iPhoto, I realized that I havent updated the 'Faces' folder yet. For those who are not familiar with Mac, iPhoto is an application that organizes photos as iTunes organizes songs. I might have mentioned in one of my posts before that the interesting feature for this application is that it can sort photos based on the faces, and it can automatically recognize the faces inside your photos. Kinda like automatic 'tag' feature in facebook. Some are accurate but some are pretty off. iPhoto will ask you to confirm the face that it recognizes before it really put the face in the record.
Anyway, just play around with it and i am quite amazed with its ability to recognize my face over a decade back. Do I really look that similar with myself 15 years back? =P
Below is the screenshot of the page. The heading says: "
Yuven may be in the photos below" which is yup! all those photos are me..
(oh yeaa... all including those smiling teethlessly ones!)

So, what i am gonna do now is to confirm all to Yuven and done!

interesting huh?! :)

A day at the museums.
"Outing to museums? Seriously?..."
Don't you agree with me that it is a normal respond when your friend asked you to go to museums? I believe you all know how small Spore is and how limited things you can do here. Nevertheless, in looking for a place to hangout during weekend, I also believe most of you wont put museums in the list. But hey... who knows it could be so much fun!
I had my museums outing yesterday with yovi and dipta. Thanks to dipta for being so curious about the museums and finally got us to come with him. Being a tourist for a day exploring singapore, that what we did yesterday. The journey started from lunch at Plaza Singapura, followed by the visits to the National Museum of Singapore and Singapore Art Museum, then tea break at JCo Raffles City, continued with a visit to Marina Barrage and ended with dinner at the Singapore flyer complex. Sounds tiring huh? Yup, it definitely was! haha.. but we had fun! 300 over photos that we took during the one day outing might prove it! ;)
National Museum of Singapore

Singapore Art MuseumWell.. being a tourist here is definitely much more fun! :)

have you?
Have you ever did something so stupid that you didn't even believe that how on earth you could have ever done that?
Have you ever felt so dumb and wondering where your supposedly-working brain went at that time you did it?
Have you???You feel super duper idiot.
Gosh!

i had a dream.
I had a dream last night. I was so close of getting myself a tonsil operation. I was already at a hospital, the nurse was already preparing me. Yet, this operation is very impulsive. None of my parents knew, and I couldnt contact them too. But strangely, i kept following the nurse until suddenly, I met my father along the hospital walkway.. no idea why he was there also.
I woke up and I could feel that my throat was killing me. haha.. strange? no no.. :P actually i am already having a sore throat, and i think this sore throat was the one that gave me the dream, not the reverse. hahaha. But this is one of the few dreams that i could remember very clearly by the time I woke up. I even still remember every part of it now.
Arrrgghh... my throat!! I could feel like there is a big rambutan seed stuck there. (
why rambutan? i have no idea.. haha. completely random. But actually, I also cant think of any seed that can logically in a size that is just nice to clog my throat.
First thought sometimes is the answer! haha..) *random* ok. pardon me pls.
again.. my throat!!!! :S

dear diary.
After struggling for 3 hours to fall asleep last night, i woke up this morning feeling a lot better. Hope it gets better and better throughout the day. :)
Anyway, while i was searching over my stuffs for medicine yesterday, i found a very familiar book that was used to be with me most of the time last time. yup! It's *
drumroll* my diary! it was written during high school period and i just spent my time reading it. omg... i couldnt believe i wrote that all. haha.. All my laughters, my tears, my wishes, my so-high-school moments, my gratitude, my angers, my worries, plus my past relationship stories are there!
Well.. reading through it now really makes me realize how silly i was last time. There are indeed a lot of memories, bad ones and good ones. Geez.. this is one thing you could get from writing a diary. Keep and read it few years later, and you could see how a changed person you are now. ;) The same applies for this blog as well i guess. :)

Oh my gosh, those days.....

sick.
I am having a bad headache today, with fever. Fortunately, it's a bit better now after a whole day sleep but unfortunately, they are still there.
There it goes my saturday night. :(

mind your words, dear..
Maybe some of you have heard the case of Prita, a housewife who is charged because of an email she wrote sharing her complaint about services provided in one of the hospitals in Indonesia? If you haven't try to google it and you'll find many articles writing about her. Although she was released from jail few weeks back, the case hasnt got any final decision yet. Here's one link you can try:
"Prita Mulyasari: The Fuss and the Fury (of the Onliners)"Now, another case appeared. Caution to all the facebookers, mind you words dear.. In this second case, a teacher is facing a charge for writing a blog in his facebook account about rampant “corruption of work hours” in the municipality administration office. For the details, you may want to read this,
" Teacher faces charges, dismissal for posting criticsm in Facebook" by Jakarta Post.Woow.. the new law of "Information and Electronic Transaction" issued in 2008 is happening right? Those two people are charged for expressing their opinions under this law.
One of the clause says this (clause No. 27 verse 3):
" Setiap Orang dengan sengaja dan tanpa hak mendistribusikan dan/atau mentransmisikan dan/atau membuat dapat diaksesnya Informasi Elektronik dan/atau Dokumen Elektronik yang memiliki muatan penghinaan dan/atau pencemaran nama baik. "
Oh well oh well.. i guess i shall not write anymore about this. Speak safe, write safe.

Mind my word.. mind my word..
and you too!!
;)
btw, i am back to spore again. a short term one tho.. hoho..

news.
Finally... after been busy helping my bro with his exams and my parents with their business while they're away, I can get my life back! haha. My brother has finished his exams and my parent were already back yesterday.
Btw, there are two news that caught my attention yesterday. First was the tragedy of the missing aircraft in the Atlantic Ocean. My deep condolences. Although I personally doubt for any survivors, I really hope there are. Well.. we'll never know what lies in front of us, wont we? Everything could change drastically in the next blink of eye. Nevertheless, being afraid or paranoid about something doesnt provide any solutions as well. There are simply too many things, too much i might say, that we cant control. Have a good rightful life and cherish every second you have mindfully; that's the best precaution we should have.
:)
Another news is about the return of Manohara back to Indonesia. Before this, I didnt have any clue who this girl is until the whole local TV stations, with their own infotainment shows and news programs were announcing the dramatic escape of Manohara from her husband. Believe me, even if you are not so interested, it would definitely attract your attention, simply because everybody is talking about it. Unless you turn off your TV, you would definitely hear the news over and over again. What makes it worse it that it's not only everywhere, they're repetitive.. all the same! -.-'
Anyway, I've just received a very current news. My aunt is giving birth now, right at this moment. Another cousin for me is on the way!! haha..
*Kriing kriing... I am waiting for the good news!
P.S For you Indonesians, how many of u were aware that 2 days ago, i.e. 1 June is Pancasila day?
:P haha.. oops.

Indonesian songs.
...
Di bawah batu nisan kini kau tlah sandarkan
kasih sayang kamu begitu dalam
sungguh ku tak sanggup ini terjadi
karna ku sangat cinta
Ini lah saat terakhirku melihat kamu
jatuh air mataku menangis pilu
hanya mampu ucapkan selamat jalan kasih
...
Touching siaaa..
Those are part of the lyrics of
Saat Terakhir by ST12, a new Indonesian band. It's a nice song i think and undoubtedly very touching. A definite emo song. haha.
Well, if you dont like ballad rock, it's expected for you to disagree with me. The music style of this band is kinda unique from the rest of the Indonesian bands. While most are either pop or rock, ST12 presents slow rock (ballad rock) rhythm in their songs. I am not a fan either, but this song is the exception. Maybe because its emo-ness. *
I am always a fan of emo songs* haha
...
Satu jam saja ku telah bisa
cintai kamu di hatiku
namun bagiku melupakanmu
butuh waktuku seumur hidup
Satu jam saja ku telah bisa
sayangi kamu di hatiku
namun bagiku melupakanmu
butuh waktuku seumur hidup
I just watched a local music award show by one of the television station in Indo. From that show, I could get myself a lil bit more up-to-date with the current popular Indonesian songs. A lot of newcomers are here (either band or solo), each with their own uniqueness. I admit their creativities; both in their music styles, attire styles as well as their lyrics. There are new songs ranging from the nice touching emo songs, the cheerful upbeat songs, to the
'oh-sooo-duh' song with only two words as its lyrics. haha. really really duh!
To name more the currently 'in' Indonesian songs are
Dilema by Ungu,
Kisah Cintaku by Peterpan,
Terlanjur Cinta by Rossa ft. Pasha 'Ungu',
Bukan Cinta Biasa by Afgan,
Cari Jodoh by Wali,
Lupa lupa tapi ingat by Kuburan,
Cinta Terlarang by The Virgin, and
Parasit by Gita Gutawa.
